Report: Emanuel Spoke to Blago About Senate Seat

Only a few days have passed and this scandal already appears to be reaching the highest advisers in Barack Obama's incoming administration.

Rahm Emanuel, Obama's chief of staff, did speak to indicted Governor Rod Blagojevich about filling the President-elect's Senate seat, reliable sources tell Fox Chicago. Emanuel supposedly even provided the scandal-ridden Governor with a list of candidates "acceptable" to Obama. The source claims that the timing of the talks would indicate that the FBI possesses recordings of them.

Of course, Team Obama is ignoring multiple requests for comment by Fox Chicago. That might also help explain why Emanuel refused to answer questions and hid behind his kids this evening.

Just how high is this scandal going to reach?

Let's Make Them Famous

As I write this the House of Representatives has passed a $15 billion bailout for the auto industry by a vote of 237-170. 1 voted present and 26 didn't vote. 32 Republican Congressmen decided to side on the anti-free market side and approve the bailout.

They are as follows:

  • Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX)
  • Rep. Steve Buyer (R-IN)
  • Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI)
  • Rep. Shelley Capito (R-WV)
  • Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE)
  • Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-MI)
  • Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-MI)
  • Rep. Phil English (R-PA)
  • Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ)
  • Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)
  • Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA)
  • Rep. Peter King (R-NY)
  • Rep. Joe Knollenberg (R-MI)
  • Rep. Ray LaHood (R-IL)
  • Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-OH)
  • Rep. Ron Lewis (R-KY)
  • Rep. Don Manzullo (R-IL)
  • Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI)
  • Rep. Jim McCrery (R-LA)
  • Rep. John McHugh (R-NY)
  • Rep. Candice Miller (R-MI)
  • Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA)
  • Rep. Jon Porter (R-NV)
  • Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-Minn)
  • Rep. Ralph Regula (R-OH)
  • Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI)
  • Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
  • Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ)
  • Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN)
  • Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI)
  • Rep. Jim Walsh (R-NY)
  • Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska)
Why am I not shocked that Don Young had the opportunity to give away taxpayer money and took it? Meanwhile, Thaddeus McCotter, last seen pontificating on how the GOP should return to its principles, sold out and voted for the bailout. Hey, Thad? Perhaps you should look at yourself before lecturing everyone else.

This should serve partially as the GOP grassroots' 2010 hitlist (yes, I mean metaphorically). We need to find Republican challengers for each and every one of these Congressmen. We may not be able to find an anti-bailout replacement in places such as Michigan, but we can at least make the people who voted "aye" tonight pay for their votes.
